Hero Posters, part II
Some color tests for the Torch’s poster. I went with the last one after getting the color choices approved by Gog’s Workshop’s editor.
Hero Posters, part I
Those are from a series of illustrations for posters to put up in my second grade class room. The plan was to add some as the year goes on, but I’ve only done two batches yet. That’s about a dozen or so.

Now, a few ladies !
We have the Wasp in a vintage costume, Mockingbird and Captain Marvel, well one of them anyway.
Something happened there and I decided to use black watercolor and a brush to outline the characters. Considering I’m terrified by paint brushes, that was mighty brave of me if I may say so.

That’s the Black Knight (I always wondered why he didn’t dress in black though) and the (mightier) Thor (probably saying thee nay).
Still outlined with a marker.

That’s Wonderman and the Beast (he joined the Avengers a little after he left the X-Men and drank that serum that turned him furry & blue), they were best buds when they were in the Avengers together.
Again they are outlined with a marker.

Now, I’m trying to get some movement, something more dynamic. Trying is the operative word.
We have Quicksilver (the Scarlet Witch’s brother. And they are Magneto’s kids too! And they used to be villains before they were pardoned and join the Avengers) and Iron Man.
At that point, I got impatient and decided to use a marker to outline the character. That second Iron Man is a test on different paper because I was testing that other paper too.
Then follows Hawkeye (he was also a villain for a short time before he too was pardoned and join the Avengers), with the marker outline.

Trying to get a background that would help the drawing. Still too soft for my taste. I think I might be starting to understand that color thing. Might.
I had my mind on only drawings Avengers from that point on.
The Vision (the android), the Scarlet Witch (the Vision’s wife… no kidding), the Incredible Hulk (smiling to a kitty, how cute) and Miss Marvel (before Rogue stole her powers).

Seeing as many cartoonist use watercolor in their sketchbooks, I thought hey, I can do that.
Well, as you can see, no I can’t. But that didn’t stop me. Here you have the not so Mighty Thor, Cyclops and Colossus.
