Those I do a lot. Face expressions for the comic strip characters. I said do, no necessarily master. Some are quite good (Ow ! Here I go breaking my arm patting myself on the back), but the problem is recreating them in the comic strip context. That, never seems to quite work.

Drawing the same characters over and over again helps me keep their proportions and shape when using them in the strip. It helps, but doesn’t work all the time.
